Chiropractic

Chiropractic care centers treat musculoskeletal conditions with an evaluation for dysfunction in the muscles, joints and nervous system to identify to the true cause of pain. The chiropractic adjustment helps to restore mobility, reduce muscle spasm and pain as well as reduce disruption of optimal nervous system function.

In today's technological age, we spent an average of 10 or more hours sitting each day. Whether it be working a desk job or looking at our phone, we continually place undue stress on the neck, back, shoulders, hips and knees. For the more active population, chiropractic can improve sports performance by reducing the imbalances and restoring proper function.

The human body is able to heal itself if we allow it to. With treatment, we can correct postural and compensatory imbalances that may occur due to injuries, overuse and a sedentary lifestyle.

At Spinal Rehab & Wellness Center, we focus on treating the person, not just the condition by creating an individualized treatment plan. The goal is to address the area the entire body as well as the region of pain or suboptimal function.

Physiotherapy

Therapeutic modalities can be used to reduce inflammation, reduce healing time and aid in improving overall treatment outcomes.

At Spinal Rehab & Wellness, we incorporate infrared light therapy, therapeutic ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Infrared light therapy increases the nitric oxide in the region to increase blood flow and promote healing.

Therapeutic ultrasound uses heated sound waves to penetrate and vibrate underlying tissue to bring blood to the area and reduce inflammation. Electrical stimulation utilizes a current to create low-level muscle contractions to reduce pain sensitivity and relax muscle spasms.

Rehabilitation

Active rehabilitation is a key component of all treatment plans. The goals of rehab may vary from improving sports performance to increasing stability to prevent future injury. An overlooked component of rehabilitation is to reduce pain in patients with on-going conditions and reduce risk of future pain in patients who are pain-free at the present time.

We address the entire biomechanical chain when it comes to creating an individualized rehabilitation program for each patient. The focus is not only on the area of pain, but addressing the cause of each condition including muscle imbalances and compensatory mechanisms with neuromuscular re-education.

Our aim is, of course, to improve the present condition but also to educate our patients on how their body works and how to maintain a high level of well-being.
